The @ChattertonSOARS School community commemorated Veterans Day by donning red, white and blue to display their patriotic pride and gratitude. Additionally, students from Linda Learned's class worked to decode secret messages about Veterans Day in Spy Club.
At this month's school-wide assembly students from grades Pre-K- 6th were awarded the student of the month for showing integrity. The whole school also watched Principal Bermas and Assistant Principal Hoisik get silly stringed as an incentive for completing goals from fun run!
Chatterton is continuing the tradition of awarding Eagle Awards for students and staff who go above and beyond to make Chatterton a better place. This month two people were awarded, Angelina Vasquez from Mrs. Shultz/Mrs. Signorile's Class and 1st grade Teacher Dr. Cinnamon Greene
Students from all grades wore the color orange to represent unity, kindness, and inclusion. During the assembly one student from each classroom was selected and awarded student of the month. These students displayed kindness and friendship to everyone all month long.
Step into the halls of Chatterton school for our "We Are Readers" Kindergarten Parade, where the youngest scholars take center stage in a celebration of literacy and imagination. Our kindergarteners proudly displayed their love for books and the limitless possibilities they hold.
Chatterton Takes Learning Outdoors

Students welcomed the Merrick Fire Department and actively engaged in a fire safety and prevention assembly, where knowledge and preparedness took center stage. Students in grades PreK-3rd learned that "Fire won't wait, plan your escape!"
Chatterton PTA hosted another fantastic Spaghetti Dinner! It was wonderful to share good food and good times with the community! Thank you to Roma Pizza for the delicious dinner and to the Chatterton staff for serving!
Our school had the privilege of hosting beloved retired staff which left a lasting impact on our students. It was a reunion of sorts, where current students had the opportunity to see and listen to some history and favorite memories. The event was delightful for all!
Students in Mrs. Frongillo's fifth grade class at @ChattertonSOARS used their interactive and collaborative skills to work on a @nearpod about healthy digital friendships in Ms. Venezia's technology class.
Fourth graders in Mrs. Savino's class at @ChattertonSOARS worked to solve the mystery of who messed with their math manipulatives. Students solved math problems to earn clues to help them element suspects. These detectives worked hard until they caught the number responsible.
The Chatterton school community displayed support for pediatric cancer awareness on Sept. 15, as September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The community has been involved in the @Cookies4Kids Be a Good Cookie campaign in effort to honor the memory of a local father.
