Some point to 1948 as context for October 7. Don’t get it twisted. Palestinians started that war in October 1947 as response to the UN resolution calling for two states. It was a war of genocidal intent which we won. It gives context, but not the kind Hamas supporters appreciate.

@wendelltalks There are a whole host of cases where the Court draws the line on what religious art work and activities are more of a cultural and historical significance than promoting religion. Example Easter Egg hunt on govt property , Ten Commandments etc.

@wendelltalks The latest case is Perry - 2005. It has been years since I read it but the rule of law is pretty straightforward. The Court found a historic and social meaning rather than an intrusive religious endorsement.
