Here's goes probably a very hot take:

If you have to consider selling the chase after opening, perhaps you shouldn't be spending $100's to open trading cards.

I have never had to sell a chase because of monetary situations, only to upgrade my collection. Whether it's a $1000 or $100 card. If you can spend $100's to chase it, you shouldn't need to sell it.

This is a big problem in the hobby today, so many people want to chase the big pulls but then immediately want to sell them.... It's not collecting, it's gambling. This leads to hobby burnout, and is why in the 2027, we will see a lot of "collectors" leave this space.

Be financially responsible with your hobby spending, and you can hold that $1300 Treekachu or Mega Gengar without feeling the pressure of needing to sell it.
