Only a small flotilla of Goldeneye in the Forth off Edinburgh at the moment, the bulk of them appear to be favouring the Fife side of the channel.

@MarburyBirds Apparently you can tell if you can count the primaries, red kite always has 5 and you might see a 6th on black kite. Look for "Wing Formula" for definitive description.

A Little Grebe, taken yesterday in my local park pond. I went back today to take more photos the because the light was much better and he's evaporated. This is the way of the grebe.
