@ImposeCost Yes, it’s been hit or miss, generally speaking it correctly identified evidence in support of a hypothesis, very low false negative rate. It did have a higher false positive rate identifying evidentiary items as in support or no impact when I would have considered it a refution.

@ImposeCost Maybe it’s a pragmatic view, maybe it’s the wrong view, but I think our expeditions over the past two decades were a net positive on the macro level even if it was a disaster on the micro level for the individual. Lots of that falls on politicians not guiding endstates.

@ImposeCost Maybe it’s still being in after all of the forever war, but I don’t have this perspective. OEF was national catharsis, OIF was dubious, but ultimately US military expeditions enforce the Pax Americana that has allowed the US to largely flourish economically compared to the globe.

@jeremykauffman I think this is reasonable at face value testing the entire population, but diagnostic tests rarely are performed against the entire populace. Doctors are applying heuristics to decrease the tested population from 1/1000 to 1/XX normally.
