The G20 Women’s Shutdown in Polokwane, Limpopo is currently underway at Jack Botes Park, where several civil society groups, community organisations and residents have gathered to challenge the inaction of government and society to address the crisis of gender-based violence and femicide [GBVF] in South Africa.

Dressed in all black, participants are marching under the banner of Women for Change and other civil society partners, using the demonstration to highlight the country’s GBVF crisis ahead of the G20 Summit.
