When @Svntvmvriv asked someone what they thought of pushing the OG content creators, they described @Kick giving longtime creators Partner status as "50 cents an hour," I think they completely missed the bigger picture.
WHY DOES EVERY OPPORTUNITY HAVE TO BE MEASURED BY HOW MUCH MONEY IT IMMEDIATELY PUTS IN YOUR POCKET?
Look at successful musicians. Everyone sees the sold-out concerts, the fame, the money, and the lifestyle. But nobody sees the years of playing empty venues, struggling to get noticed, and working their asses off just to get an opportunity.
That's how I see what Kick is doing.
Becoming a Partner isn't just about a paycheck. It's about opening doors that might have otherwise remained closed.
It's credibility. It's visibility. It's networking opportunities. It's being able to approach companies, sponsors, and other content creators with something that helps establish you as a serious creator.
Does that guarantee success? Absolutely not. But it gives people another opportunity to build something bigger. What they do with that opportunity is entirely up to them.
And personally, I'd much rather see Kick invest in the creators who have been here since the beginning, who genuinely love the platform and helped build its community, than spend millions of dollars paying already-famous streamers to show up.
I'm not saying money doesn't matter. Of course it does. Creators deserve to be compensated for their work.
But there's a difference between paying someone for what they've already built and investing in someone's potential to build something greater.
Kick has an opportunity to grow its own stars instead of constantly buying someone else's.
I'd rather see a platform build legends from within its community than rent them from somewhere else.
That's the bigger picture I wish more people could see.
Good job @StakeEddie@KICKEthan@kickcommunity
I am just saying if @KICKEthan is talking about OGs on @kick! I been out here before Kick was ever popular! I instantly saw the vision of the company and fell in love with the idea. I still believe in this platform and been doing everything I could to make it grow. I have been recruiting homies to the site ever since! I have also been recruiting the musicians I work with! And I never stopped recruiting!
But after talking with my bro @sirdickel this week. We really want to take content creation/streaming more seriously. I will admit it is hard to stay consistent with streaming when I am on the road but with IRL streams becoming a thing I will figure out how to be consistent. Maybe get some backstage behind the scenes content with the musicians I work with.
Give me a shot @Svntvmvriv@StakeEddie I won't let ya down!
