When we become transparent with our students, they get to see just how much we love and care for them. They also get to see that their struggles are just like ours and they can make it just like we did. Use your story, don’t hide it. Let them in and love them along my the way.
Empowering students doesn't mean you sit back and HOPE they own their own learning. It means you provide the conditions for them to do so. #HackLearning
#ThoughtForTheDay “It’s one thing to say we have high expectations for kids...but another to say I will be there to help you...no matter your struggles.” - @Principal_EL via #Culturize
📝TAKE NOTE EDUCATORS📝
ALL kids want a teacher who:
📌Greets them in the morning
📌Acts like they care
📌Knows how to say their name
📌Has an inviting classroom
📌Makes learning FUN!
📌ALL kids.
📌Not just elementary age.
📌Middle & high school kids too!

⚠️WARNING⚠️TEACHERS⚠️
ALL kids deserve a second chance. ALL kids deserve to start a new year off with a clean slate. ALL kids need their previous teachers to tell their future teacher about what they did great.
TEACHERS DO NOT NEED A WARNING⚠️ABOUT KIDS. @SteeleThoughts
Questions to ask your students in the first week:
1. What helps you feel welcomed?
2. How do you like to be greeted?
3. What strengths do you bring to classrooms? The school?
4. What do you like most about school so far?

All kids might not care what you teach them, but most will care how you treat them.
Stay in it for the long game and don't write them off.
