@AlexBerenson@TheFP It is all about liability. If we set up a regulatory govt entity and something bad happens the AI company says we followed the rules, not our fault.
@AlexBerenson Product liability. Heard of that? These companies can and should be sued for any damage they enable. An unappreciated aspect of their call for regulation is their effort to avoid/mitigate their liability (just like pharma has with vaccines).
@clayandbuck@ClayTravis There is a third reason Anthropic and OpenAI want a government regulatory body. Right now if the product creates harm THEY are subject to product liability. They want to offload some or all the risk to regulators. (sorta like pharma does for vaccines).
@TheFP No testimony by her providers before the event or afterwards of symptoms of psychosis (delusions and/or hallucinations). Has anyone who has treated psychosis disorders seen anyone who only had psychosis for less than a day (excepting using lsd etc)? I haven’t.
