This paragraph by Haruki Murakami hits hard:
“Once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.”
People keep refusing to buy me books as presents because they say I’ve already so many of them and it wouldn’t be as special. No, you don’t understand, getting free books is the greatest gift you can give me.
Only two reasons someone builds a business:
1) they are obsessed with a mission
2) they want to make money
The first group does everything they can to make a dent in the universe. The second takes the highest probability path to get rich.
Neither is right or wrong, just know which one you are.
Harsh truth:
The people who love you don’t actually want the best for you. They want you to be safe.
