After watching people spend the last few days talking about Pike - her childhood, her age, her trauma, her execution, her suffering - I want to talk about Colleen Slemmer.
Because somehow the person who was murdered keeps becoming a footnote in the story of the person who murdered her.

Colleen was 19 years old.
She wasn't a case number. She wasn't simply "Christa Pike's victim."
She was a daughter. A granddaughter. A young woman who loved roller-skating, miniature golf and computers. She could take a computer apart and put it back together again. She even had a shirt that said "Computer Geek."
Her family later had that shirt made into a teddy bear so they could keep a piece of her close. ❤️

Colleen was also the kind of kid who gave up part of her own lunchtime to help children with disabilities - feeding students who needed assistance and helping kids in wheelchairs. She volunteered at Special Olympics events. One summer, she helped paint her school.

She struggled with reading, but she was smart and fascinated by computers. She wanted training that wasn't available at the Job Corps program near her home in Florida, so at 19 years old she left her family and went to Knoxville to learn computers and build a future for herself.

She never got that future.

On January 12, 1995, Colleen was lured to an isolated area near the University of Tennessee agricultural campus.
What happened next wasn't a momentary loss of control.

Colleen was beaten and tortured during a prolonged attack. She was cut repeatedly. Her throat was slashed. A pentagram was carved into her chest. She was struck with a meat cleaver and ultimately suffered devastating blows to her head with a large piece of asphalt. Afterward, Pike took a piece of Colleen's skull from the scene. These details come from the court record - not internet rumor.

Colleen was 19.

Nineteen.

And while the country is now being asked to think about what Christa Pike experienced during a failed execution, I think there's room to remember what Colleen experienced when nobody came to stop it.

There's also room to remember everything that existed before those final horrifying moments.

The girl who loved computers.
The girl who roller-skated.
The girl who helped children with disabilities eat their lunch.
The girl who volunteered at the Special Olympics.
The daughter whose mother has now spent more than three decades trying to make sure the world remembers her name.

Her mother, May Martinez, said something this week that absolutely broke my heart:
"The criminals get so much attention. Why? She has been lost in this."

She's right.

So today, I'm not posting Christa Pike's face.

I'm posting Colleen's name.

She was here.
She was loved.
She mattered.
And she deserves to be remembered for the life she lived - not only for the horrific way someone chose to end it.

📝 How is this human garbage, this child trafficker, not in prison—let alone running for governor? It is beyond me.

Interesting that they have no qualms about cutting healthy bodies of children but would not want to be involved in the death of a cruel, convicted murderer who kept the skull of her victim as a trophy (and even ate out of it). I am guessing they can’t ignore maimed alive children the way they ignored the dead children of Lindsay Clancy. Her children couldn’t be interviewed to hear how the mom hurt them and how it made them feel. They are used to ignoring and moving on from dead children due to their love of abortion. The dead child allows them to fully support and empathize with what the mom was feeling, but it’s inconvenient to them to see and hear from a child who experienced it.

How about pro-innocent-life. Does that make it easier for you to understand? She tortured and murdered a young girl and ate from the scrap of skull she kept as a souvenir. I don’t value the murderer’s life. I value her victim’s life who was taken by her. She chose to forfeit her life when she took another’s. And a baby in the womb is innocent life. The victim is innocent life. The perpetrators of murder give up their right to life. That’s their choice. Hopefully that makes more sense.

To be fair, the autism epidemic is part of this. And I say this as a mom to an adult son with profound autism. They need a ton of special ed staff because they have to have at least two in each self contained classroom to be able to handle the needs of the students. And even in the cases where the student is in a gen ed class, they need supports to allow that to work. I’m not saying they aren’t over doing it in some cases, or spending in ways they shouldn’t, but there is an actual need for those support staff.

Large swaths of corporate media exist at this point primarily to propagandize and radicalize subsets of the population into supporting the liquidation of national sovereignty. Willfully omitted by the CNN propagandists is that these are minors who cartels have recently tried to smuggle across the Southwest Border but who were rescued by Border Patrol. These minors will now be safely and humanely reunited with their families by dedicated public servants who have devoted their lives to combatting child trafficking. It is because of the efforts of these public servants that there is no longer a raging UAC (“unaccompanied alien child”) catastrophe — the Trump Administration swiftly, urgently and righteously ended the child trafficking nightmare.

Between ten to twenty thousand children a MONTH were successfully smuggled by cartels into the US under Biden, who worked with taxpayer NGOs to deliver the smuggled children to unknown adults in the US, whereupon they disappeared. The NGOs then submitted knowingly fraudulent asylum claims to try to keep the children from ever going home or seeing their families again.

These same Democrat-NGO networks for cartels were also ruthlessly exploited by TDA and MS-13 to insert gang members into the United States and violent criminals into our high schools (automatically allowed in merely by claiming to be 17), subjecting innocent American children to unspeakable horrors.

It was one of the darkest of many dark chapters of the Biden era. The Trump Administration put the child traffickers out of business and CNN considers this a great tragedy to be urgently reversed. New depths of “journalistic” depravity and immortality.

B) What progressives do is take the commands Jesus gave to INDIVIDUALS and apply them to the GOVERNMENT.

When Christians use words like “caring” or “generous” they mean caring for people and being generous with their own resources.

When progressives use the words “caring” and “generous”, they mean “vote for the government to forcibly take OTHER PEOPLE’S RESOURCES at gunpoint and redistribute it against their will.”

Of course, this *always* backfires because governments do not work like people and churches, so with governments you tends to get more of what you INCENTIVIZE and less of what you PENALIZE.

This is why cities and states that throw billions of $ at “solving homelessness” end up with MORE HOMELESSNESS, they do not “solve homelessness.”

This is a theology-nerd thing, but in general progressives want the government to do the roles of the church and individual (charity, compassion, care), and they want NOBODY to do the role of the State (administer justice and be a “terror to the wrongdoer”).

I've learned the hard way that it's virtually impossible to sue these outlets when they get something wrong. Glad to see the WH calling them out.
