Palestra is a DF first and for most, then he's versatile and can play LB, RB, RWB, LWB
Same with LaCroix a DF, Can play LCB, RCB, CCB. Giving you flexibility

LaCroix is not a back 5 def. He played his best football there does not mean he's a back 5 defender don't be stupid
Also he's played a back 4 occasionally for palace, France & Wolfsburg

That's a silly Logic as well debating with you seems you haven't learnt to stop making assertions like, "can't play, will play" meanwhile all the players you mentioned and even one worse than Palestra in defense all played a back 4

Trent not even better than Palestra defensively but he won the league and Champions league with Liverpool, same with Hakimi. Hakimi has recovery pace that I know but he's not an elite 1 v 1 FB. As I said it's all about tactics when there's quality

Look at Dario Really Deep and Emenalo High up, it allows the winger/Midfielders press more onto our CM, personally I don't think Enzo can play where Dario played, don't be surprised seeing Enzo in the 6 if he stays! and Caciedo as support role! Like a deep 8.. don't be surprised

Essential that position is meant for FBs just that some midfielders/attackers can play there!
Different from going to Trevo a Defender to RW a very advanced forward role!

Same with Palestra, played in a 4, played on both flanks as well!
