"You are spending $7.5 trillion?"
Congress: "Yes Dave"
"And you only have $5.5 trillion in revenue?"
Congress: "That's correct Dave"
"And you have $39.5 trillion in debt and 42% of all income tax revenue goes to paying interest?"
Congress: "That's correct Dave"
@WheelsGo33299@peacock I love Phil and the Tour De France won’t sound the same without him. But I do agree that Phil’s time to hang it up is coming soon.
But hey @peacock your app is really clunky
Lance Armstrong said the quiet part out loud yesterday.
"Tadej knows damn well what the real record is."
He's talking about Tadej Pogacar, who is closing in on his fifth Tour de France. Five puts him level with Merckx, Anquetil, Hinault and Indurain. The official summit of the sport.
Lance is saying Pogacar won't stop there. Because the number in Pogacar's head isn't five. It's seven.
Im not sure Lance is wrong.
The record books say those seven Tours never happened. Fine. But millions of people stood on the roadside and watched them happen. The riders he beat were, almost to a man, doing exactly what he was doing. We scrubbed the wins from paper. We never scrubbed them from the sport's memory.
I'm not defending him. He cheated, he lied about it for years, and he went after the people who told the truth. That part of the story doesn't get softer with time.
But there's a difference between a record being deleted and a record not existing. Everyone in the sport knows the difference. Pogacar knows it better than anyone, because he's the one riding in its shadow.
That's why Armstrong's comment lands. It's not an old man reaching for relevance. It's the one thing about that era nobody wants to say out loud: you can take a name off a trophy, but the race still happened.
So when Pogacar rolls into Paris, he won't be celebrating a record. He'll be counting.
Five down. Two to go.
Where do you land? Is the record five, or is it seven?
@MassieforKY@barnes_law@tedcruz We the people are fed up with anti-representation from TDS. We voted for Trump's agenda then and we're still voting for it now. The wise will hear us this time. We want our Republic restored and the mafioso stripped from the government, those working against the people must go.
Thanks to Donald Trump, we now have two Democratic parties. With the defeat of @RepThomasMassie for being a principled fiscal conservative, the Republican Party basically exists in name only. We have two big-government political parties, each offering its own brand of socialism.
It’s sad that a week before this election people are making false and unsubstantiated allegations about me in an obvious attempt to influence the outcome of this election.
All of the claims of inappropriate conduct are false. I’ve never offered anyone money in exchange for their silence. I report all of my farm income, including cash, to the IRS.
There are no ethics claims filed against me, nor have there ever been any claims filed against me in my 14 years in office. I have consulted legal counsel and we are considering all options.
There is only one thing you need to know about @RepThomasMassie campaign and it’s not even that he’s the best congressman in the country with a voting record second to none.
It’s that the Israel lobby is attempting to unseat a congressman for the crime of exposing them and their disastrous war.
No self respecting nation can allow that to happen.
Don’t believe the bs last minute accusations and betting market shifts. These are obvious signs of a concerted effort.
Just double down, send him money if you can, call whoever you know in his district, share his videos or posts.
We need to win this one.
I agree. These guys make it look easier than it is. I’ve played that course 4 times. If you can’t hit it how you envision it, it’ll est you up, but hit two quality shots and you have a birdie look.
These pros make 13 look easy but that hole is a beast. Too far left off the tee? Screwed. Too long and right? Screwed. Hit the fairway? Better not be short, long, or left on your next.
@FanAccount_15@Echo2323@barstoolsports The parallels are amazing. Here you have VT with a storied past and passionate fan base but the past 15 years have been a joke.
Ton of hope, feels like a huge opportunity to get back on top. Then boom - same old incompetence.
