This week CDAS has been surveying at Stansted house looking to reveal more of the secret garden which has been hidden underground for the last 230 years.

As a protected species, it is illegal to kill or harm an adder.
If you do encounter one, you needn't worry too much, just observe from a safe distance and wait for them to pass or, just leave them be.
Snakes on a plain!
Well, sort of. Adders are waking up from their winter slumber and ready to capture those beautiful rays of sunshine.
Usually shy, adders are venomous, and dogs should be kept on the lead on access land, just to be on the safe side.
