#Browns QB Shedeur Sanders reflected on the biggest lesson he’s carried from his rookie season into Year 2:
“Life is the same, so how do you view things and do things differently? What gives you energy, and what doesn’t? How do you keep yourself in a happy place at all times?”
Shedeur said he leans on his faith to stay grounded.
“I pray a lot, listen to sermons, and it gives me a refreshed mind.”
A mature perspective from the young quarterback as he prepares for another season in Cleveland. 💯

SHEDEUR SANDERS MAKES HIS POSITION CLEAR IN BROWNS QB BATTLE
(@ChicoCleveland )
BEREA, Ohio — If there was one takeaway from Shedeur Sanders’ media session today, it’s this: he’s focused on earning the job, not talking about it.
While the quarterback competition continues to dominate headlines in Cleveland, Sanders showed poise, confidence, and maturity throughout his press conference. Rather than making bold claims about being QB1, he repeatedly emphasized preparation, competition, and daily improvement.
Growth Is Showing •
The biggest storyline surrounding Sanders right now is his development.
Browns General Manager Andrew Berry offered strong praise this week, saying:
“Shedeur, he's made incredible strides over the last eight weeks. Really, really pleased with his progress. He's naturally accurate as a quarterback. His command of the operation, control of the huddle, all of those things. You can tell that with a year under his belt, he's making those strides.”
That's exactly what the Browns hoped to see heading into Year 2.
Observers at OTAs and minicamp have consistently noted Sanders' increased confidence, quicker decision-making, and growing command of the offense. His natural accuracy continues to stand out, but coaches appear equally impressed with his leadership and ability to operate the offense efficiently.
The QB Battle Continues •
Head coach Todd Monken made it clear that no starting quarterback has been named.
Monken praised both Sanders and Deshaun Watson, saying both players have performed well enough to continue competing for the starting role. The Browns appear committed to letting the competition play out throughout training camp before making a final decision.
For Sanders, that's exactly the mindset he wants.
He's not focused on depth charts in June. He's focused on stacking good days and continuing to improve.
Coach Prime's Influence Remains •
Anyone who watched today's presser could see the influence of Coach Prime.
Sanders carried himself with confidence but remained humble. He answered questions directly, accepted the challenge in front of him, and never appeared distracted by outside noise.
That's been a hallmark of his football journey dating back to Jackson State and Colorado.
The expectations have always been high.
The spotlight has always been bright.
Yet Sanders continues to approach each opportunity the same way: compete, improve, and let the results speak for themselves.
My Take •
What stood out most today wasn't a specific quote.
It was Sanders' demeanor.
He looked comfortable.
He looked confident.
And perhaps most importantly, he looked like a quarterback who understands that winning the Browns' starting job will happen on the practice field—not at the podium.
The competition isn't over.
Training camp will ultimately determine who starts Week 1.
But if Andrew Berry's comments are any indication, Shedeur Sanders is trending in the right direction and giving the Browns every reason to believe he can be their future under center.
