When you feel down, start washing the floor with your hands, without gloves.
My grandmother used to say:
"The brain must return to the body."
You feel the dirt, the effort, the weight, the cold and gradually you regain control.
It's not about cleanliness, it's about grounding.
While you're only in your head, you're worried.
When you’re with the rag, you're in the moment.
Before an important decision, sleep three nights.
Not one, three.
The first day you’re driven by emotion. The second, fear.
Only on the third day does your head start to think.
And honestly, how many times have you regretted rushing?
And how many times have you regretted waiting?
That's right. This is wisdom in action.
If you can't wake up, wash your feet with cold water.
Not a cold shower, not frostbite just your feet.
Grandma used to say: "This is how you come back to earth."
And it's true, the body wakes up, the brain gets a grip on reality,
the dizziness disappears.
When nothing is going well start frying something in a pan.
Whatever it is. Even if you're not hungry.
The sound, the aroma, the heat all these are safety signals for the brain.
"If I’m cooking – then I’m alive."
Really, it brings you back to yourself better than meditation, especially on those days when everything falls apart.
When everything annoys you, go out and walk until you’re tired.
No phone, no music, just walk.
Don't run away from problems, walk through them.
Grandma used to say: "Anger is a force that needs to be burned out, not suppressed."
The faster it passes through the body, the faster it subsides.
There's nothing wrong with that. There are no breakdowns.
This is the wisdom that the old people left us.
My "Macedonian" grandmother was a terribly wise woman!
On paper it is gorgeous. Two toothbrushes in one cup. Tiny socks on the radiator. Someone whose face you know in the dark reaching for you at 3:12 and not leaving. A small person with your eyes and their laugh eating cereal too slowly before school. It sounds like the closest thing to safety we have ever invented.
But a lot of people did not grow up watching love look like that. They grew up watching marriage be a war that never declared itself out loud. 19:40 on a Tuesday, plates not quite slammed, voices just quiet enough for the neighbors not to hear. A father sleeping on the couch for three years. A mother doing the emotional admin for five people and getting a wilted bouquet once a year as a receipt. The child learns quickly that forever can be a threat as easily as it is a promise.
You say mini mes. A lot of people hear smaller witnesses. Witnesses to debt. To screaming in the car park. To one parent disappearing for six months and calling it adjusting. Some bodies carry the memory of being the kid who held the camera and took the Christmas photo where nobody spoke to each other for two days after. They do not crave that house. They crave never putting anyone through it.
There is another layer no one likes talking about because it sounds too practical for a sacred topic. Mortgage rates that bite. Groceries that feel like a test. Friends burning out in two jobs and still wondering if they can afford a dentist, не те що дитину. Bodies that already wake tired. The idea of bringing in a small, breakable person is not just cute to them. It is a spreadsheet with red numbers and a nervous system that shakes.
And then there are the ones who were never told they were allowed to want something for themselves first. To them, choosing no partner and no kids for now is not selfishness. It is the first act of self parenting. It is finally learning to feed the part of them that was always the one doing the caretaking. They are not missing the desire. Sometimes they are surgically removing the compulsion put in them by a culture that treated women as wombs and men as wallets.
Some people hear spouse and feel warmth. Others hear spouse and feel a hand closing over their life. Some people look at a child and feel their chest widen. Others look at their own sleep schedule, their own untreated trauma, their own rage in traffic and think not yet, not like this. That is not nihilism. That is responsibility. The bravest thing some people will ever do is break the chain by not adding another link.
Marriage and children can be the most beautiful thing. They can also be the most efficient way to hide from yourself. It is easy to call it forever if you have never sat with your own loneliness without a witness. It is easy to say mini me if you have not yet met the parts of you that should not be replicated without serious editing. Many people want to arrive to that altar and that nursery with less unprocessed violence in their hands. That takes time. That looks from the outside like drifting.
If you are lucky enough to want it and still be soft when you picture it, hold that gently. Do not turn your hunger into a ruler you hit others with. The world has given plenty of reasons to be afraid of binding contracts and tiny hearts. Climate, war, courts, childhood bedrooms where love was conditional on performance. Not everyone has healed enough to gamble a child on their hope.
Ask people what they want under all the noise. Some will say a partner and kids. Some will say a room, a dog, three good friends and work that feels honest. Some will say I do not know yet, I was never given space to ask. The distance is not as far as it looks. Everyone is hunting the same thing under different packaging. A place where their nervous system can stop scanning the door. A hand that stays. A tomorrow that is not a threat.
You can stand in your dream of spouse and children without needing the whole planet to agree.
You’re scrolling because your brain is looking for something that matters. It registers every post as potentially important because it can’t distinguish between information that’s relevant and information that’s just present.
We evolved to process maybe a dozen meaningful updates per day from people within walking distance. Now we’re absorbing hundreds of inputs per hour from strangers across the planet. Our hardware hasn’t changed. It still treats everything that appears in front of us as something we might need to know. So scrolling feels productive even when it accomplishes nothing.
Platforms exploit this perfectly. They feed you just enough genuinely useful content to justify the behavior, mixed with infinite filler that triggers the same neurological response. Your brain can’t filter it in real time. It processes the celebrity gossip with the same attention it gives the business insight. Both register as information you might need. Neither probably matters to any decision you’ll actually make.
What’s really happening is you’re distributing your attention across hundreds of topics that have no connection to your life. Someone’s opinion about politics you can’t influence. Drama in an industry you don’t work in. Trends in places you’ll never visit. Your brain treats all of it as worth considering because it appeared in the feed.
Meanwhile the things actually within your control, your work, your relationships, your health, get whatever attention is left after you’ve spent it on everything else
You must recognise that your brain’s threat detection system is being hijacked to make you care about information that doesn’t matter. You’re letting an algorithm decide what consumes your mental energy. And it’s optimizing for your engagement, not your outcomes.
Stop scrolling for three days and watch what happens.
Nothing.
The important information reaches you anyway.
The rest was just noise.
Do not delay having kids. If you have even a remote desire for children, you must act now.
That means committing to someone wholeheartedly in the act of marriage. Which accordingly means sacrificing your independence at the altar of a family unit and responsibilities beyond (but certainly in accordance with) your own personal desires.
Codependence is not a pathology, it is a human need.
It is not weakness but a form of transcendence.
Interreliance and relinquishment of self is more satisfying than any “independence” or self achievement.
Apotheosis of the self can only end in a vacuous narcissism held aloft on the capricious approval of others.
Embrace death of self and you will experience an unexpected and ineffable joy.
🚨🗣 Kaka: “I did everything I could to save my marriage, but there's something I learned: you can't force someone to stay with you if they've already decided to leave.
“In 2015, my wife told me she didn't want to be married anymore. I clung to the idea of fighting, of showing her we could get back what we had. I read a book that proposed a 40-day challenge to win back your partner; I did it twice. Gifts, letters, unexpected surprises… but in the end, she just kept repeating, 'I don't want it anymore.'
“It was a brutal blow. As a Christian, divorce wasn't in my plans. The Bible says marriage is forever, but what do you do when the other person no longer wants to continue? I fought until the end, until I understood something key: love can't be forced. Love is a daily choice. And if someone stops choosing you, you have to learn to let go.”
Most men won’t get this, but when a woman argues with you, throws a fit or is a nuisance about something, it means she’s fighting for your relationship because she cares. The last thing you want is a woman who knows you’ve screwed up or that things are bad but stays silent and retreats. That silence means she’s given up on you inside and you’ll never get her back after that.
“In keeping their options open, they ensure that they’re going to jump from option to option. If you don’t commit to a path, you’re going to fail at it … You have to commit to it to make it work, and I think marriage is the same way. You just have to commit to it. You have to say, ’This is the path I’m on. For better or for worse, I’m going to double down on it.’”
I see a lot of guys get trapped in this “rule following” paradigm that they are unable to break out of
It’s like they “go through the motions” but nothing ever happens for real for them because they can’t access the “take” energy required to actually get it. To bring it in. It’s like they are unable to break out of the “just doing my little steps over here until someone gives me what i want!” Energy. It’s like a big roleplay.
A large part of this is embodying what you truly want. With these guys there is still a big disconnect between body & mind. They intellectually believe they are “doing the right stuff”, but something invisible is still missing - and the invisible something is being fully honest & accepting what you actually want as completely okay. There is an ability to “act without permission” that these guys never quite get to. Its like some magical entity is always over their shoulder, energetically stopping them from getting what they truly want
This manfiests as uneccesarily long timelines & “baby steps”. A lot of fluff with no real big leapfrogs. If ur in the same spot like 2-5 years in then u have big mental block u gotta fix, usually manifests as attacking wrong problem due to avoidance which is happening because true desire hasn’t been incorporated. It is fear of their own power level
Just had a nighttime beach walk where I was reflecting on the quick passage of time.
We all have much less than we think we do and to live it purposefully we must frequently do an accounting of what we have done, are doing, and plan to do
We plan, we execute and live life, and within the living of our day to day lives- our desires, understanding, execution, and goals change and evolve
No grand point to this post except for don’t take life and time for granted, take some time to self-reflect on where you are and want to be, and don’t put off that which your soul tells you to do
