MSU DPPS celebrated a special swearing-in ceremony today for four officers who recently completed the 116th Mid-Michigan Police Academy. Please join us in congratulating and welcoming:

👮‍♂️Officer Matthew Stachelski
Matt is an MSU graduate with a degree in Criminal Justice. Originally from Brighton, Michigan, he now calls East Lansing home. After interning with MSU DPPS Emergency Management, Matt knew this was the department where he belonged. He’s excited to serve the Spartan community and work alongside his new team.
👮 Officer Jaimee Germain
Jaimee grew up in Ovid and brings valuable experience as a former dispatcher in Ingham and Clinton counties. She loves riding horses, spending time with her two adopted dogs, and traveling. Jaimee is thrilled to join MSU DPPS and protect the campus she knows so well.
👮‍♂️ Officer Brian Morgans
Brian hails from Chelsea, Michigan, and graduated from MSU with a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife and a minor in Criminal Justice. A former member of the MSU shooting team, Brian enjoys hunting, fishing, and motorsports. He’s eager to help keep our community safe and thriving.
👮‍♂️ Officer Nickolas Corriveau
Nickolas graduated from SVSU with a Criminal Justice degree and recently completed the Mid-Michigan Police Academy. He’s passionate about connecting with the community and enjoys playing guitar and spending time with family and friends. Serving MSU has been a lifelong goal, and he’s honored to protect the Spartan community.

If you see Officers Stachelski, Germain, Morgans, or Corriveau around campus, be sure to give them a warm Spartan welcome! 💚

Meet our new comfort dog — Beau — who’s named after the Beaumont Tower on campus.

We are so excited to introduce Comfort Canine Beau to the Spartan Community! 💚 🐾 🤍

Named after Beaumont Tower, Beau is the newest member of @msupolice.

As a comfort canine, he will work alongside Lt. Kim Parviainen, performing numerous duties including attending campus events, supporting Spartans and addressing wellness needs within the MSU community.

After working over 14 hours providing safety and security coverage for the home football game against Iowa on Saturday, three of our department members finished their weekend by completing the Detroit Free Press Half Marathon!

Earlier this evening, MSU Police and Public Safety responded to a call reporting a bomb threat and weapons threat at multiple locations on campus. Based on how the call was received and other information, we did not believe the threat to be credible, but we still responded appropriately. It has been confirmed by both our department and the FBI that this call was a hoax. There is NO danger or threat to the community.

Out of an abundance of caution, MSU police officers immediately responded to the locations that were mentioned. We appreciate the quick response of our officers and assisting agencies in determining that this call was a hoax. Again, there is NO threat or danger to the community.

After months of hard work and dedication, we are proud to welcome Officer Havyn Boike, Officer Karley Janecke, and Officer William Vincent to our team. These three all graduated from the 112th class of the Mid-Michigan Police Academy on Friday and were officially sworn-in to our department today. 👏🏼
