Stephen J. Tanner, Chief of the Halton Regional Police Service, spoke at a press conference announcing “Project Cyprus,” a major drug trafficking investigation that led to the largest firearms seizure in the history of the service.
Says that all 24 handguns recovered in the operation originated in the USA, he goes on to say "The vast majority of crime guns in Halton region and surrounding areas originate from the US, in fact recent police data shows that in most jurisdictions around 90% of handguns recovered in violent crimes are traced back to the US"

Last night was my last recruit graduation, and I will miss these events dearly.
Being a part of the excitement, meeting the recruits and learning their stories, witnessing the triumphant end of one chapter and the thrilling start of another – it’s such a deeply rewarding experience.
As my policing career nears its end, I am heartened to see the future of the profession is in very good hands.
