My fellow residents of Kilifi,
First, I sincerely apologise to the people of Kilifi for the water crisis and the hardship and inconvenience it has caused our families, businesses, schools and health facilities.
Following extensive discussions yesterday and today between H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto and myself, I am pleased to assure you that the immediate water crisis has been resolved.
The longstanding issues relating to historical obligations to the Coast Water Development Authority and power tariffs are being resolved once and for all.
In the meantime, power supply has been restored and water pumping has resumed. We expect water to start reaching our pipes by midnight today as the system is replenished.
Going forward, we will strengthen communication to ensure that any service interruptions affecting water supply are communicated promptly.
I thank the people of Kilifi for your patience, understanding and resilience.
Went out with my team last night for drinks left at around 8pm for my place at about 10 pm I was back at the joint. Second time in my life leaving the club at 6am.
You cannot spend your entire adult life playing the victim and blaming your parents for everything that is wrong with you.
Yes, they may have raised you badly. Yes, they may have neglected you, hurt you, failed you, or left you carrying wounds you never asked for.
But at some point, healing becomes your responsibility.
You did not choose the trauma you experienced as a child, but you are responsible for what you do with it as an adult. You cannot keep returning to the same wound every day and use it to explain why you refuse to grow.
Understand what happened. Acknowledge what it did to you. Grieve what you never received. Then do the difficult work of becoming the person you needed when you were younger.
Your parents may be responsible for the wounds they gave you. They are not responsible for whether you spend the rest of your life refusing to heal.
At some point, the question stops being, “Why did they do this to me?” and becomes, “What am I going to do about what it did to me?”
That is where accountability begins. That is where healing begins.
