China will establish a space-ground coordinated monitoring system for near-Earth asteroids, providing early warning support for planetary defense against asteroids, the China National Space Administration announced on June 30. Experts say the next step is to determine how to deflect potentially hazardous asteroids.

La Chine mettra en place un système de surveillance coordonné espace-sol des astéroïdes géocroiseurs, fournissant un système d'alerte précoce pour la défense planétaire contre les astéroïdes, a annoncé l'Administration spatiale nationale chinoise le 30 juin. Les experts indiquent que la prochaine étape consiste à déterminer comment dévier les astéroïdes potentiellement dangereux.

Chinese GPU maker MetaX Integrated Circuits is racing to scale production as "domestic AI computing demand far exceeds supply", with customer orders already stretching well into next year, said the company's co-founder and chief technology officer Peng Li. Founded in 2020, MetaX went public on the technology-focused STAR Market at the Shanghai bourse in December. Its products cover four major areas of AI inference, cloud-based AI training, graphics rendering and 3D applications, as well as scientific computing.

Nagqu in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region sits at an average altitude of over 4,500 meters, the highest of any prefecture-level administrative region in the country, and has fewer than two people per square kilometer. Herding families live scattered across vast grasslands, and the nearest township school can be dozens of kilometers away. For years, obtaining an education was a major challenge for local children. Today, boarding schools are making education more accessible. CGTN follows a 13-year-old herder from the summer pastures back to school to see how boarding education is changing lives on the plateau.

Située dans la région autonome du Xizang, au sud-ouest de la Chine, Nagqu se trouve à une altitude moyenne de plus de 4 500 mètres, ce qui en fait la région administrative de niveau préfectoral la plus haute du pays, avec moins de deux habitants au kilomètre carré. Les familles d’éleveurs vivent dispersées à travers de vastes prairies, et l’école la plus proche se trouve aux dizaines de kilomètres. Pendant des années, l'accès à l'éducation a constitué un défi majeur pour les enfants de la région. Aujourd'hui, les internats rendent l'éducation plus accessible. In Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, teaching has long extended beyond the classroom. For decades, scattered villages, vast distances, and harsh terrain meant teachers often traveled with herdsmen during seasonal migrations, pitching tents as makeshift classrooms to keep lessons going. One of those teachers is Thondup Drolma. Today, at more than 4,000 meters above sea level, her daily routine offers insight into how boarding schools have transformed education for children in remote pastoral regions.

Dans la région autonome du Xizang, au sud-ouest de la Chine, l'éducation dépasse depuis longtemps la salle de classe. Pendant des décennies, en raison de la dispersion des villages, des longues distances et d’un relief difficile, les enseignants accompagnaient souvent les éleveurs lors de leurs déplacements saisonnières, installant des tentes en guise de salles de classe improvisées pour poursuivre l’enseignement. Thondup Drolma est l’une de ces enseignantes. Aujourd’hui, à plus de 4 000 mètres d’altitude, son quotidien témoigne de la manière dont les internats ont transformé l’éducation des enfants dans les régions pastorales reculées.

The Long March 10B, China's newest rocket model, made history on Friday july 10th as the first Chinese launch vehicle to be successfully recovered after an orbital mission. The rocket's maiden flight made China the second country, after the United States, to own reliable rocket reusability technology. It also marked the world's first recovery of an orbital-class rocket using a wire arrestment recovery system.

La Longue Marche 10B, le plus récent modèle de fusée chinoise, est entrée dans l'histoire le vendredi 10 juillet en devenant le premier lanceur chinois récupéré avec succès après une mission orbitale. Ce vol inaugural a fait de la Chine le deuxième pays, après les États-Unis, à maîtriser une technologie fiable de réutilisation des fusées. Il a également marqué la première récupération au monde d'une fusée orbitale à l'aide d'un système de récupération par halage.

What the South China Sea Waves Tell Us

Ten years ago, with the backing of external forces, the Philippines staged a political farce known as the "South China Sea Arbitration". Recently, it has once again marked the anniversary of the case in a high-profile manner, attempting to mislead the international community and reinforce its unlawful claims. Xinhua News Agency's allegorical animation, "Who Is Playing the 'Justice'?", exposes the true nature of the so-called “award” as a distortion of facts and a misrepresentation of truth.

The “South China Sea Arbitration” violates fundamental principles of international law, including state consent and pacta sunt servanda, contravenes UNCLOS itself, and, still more importantly, runs counter to the basic facts of the South China Sea.

The so-called “award” is nothing but a worthless piece of paper that is illegal, null and void, and has no binding force. China does not accept or recognize the “award,” and opposes and does not accept any claim or action based on it. China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests in the South China Sea shall not be affected by the “award” under any circumstances.

If the “award” were to be taken as a standard, many countries’ islands and reefs would be denied the basis for claiming maritime rights and interests. May we ask, have those countries supporting the “award” voluntarily waived the maritime rights and interests deriving from their relevant islands and reefs?

China urges the relevant countries to earnestly respect China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests in the South China Sea, stop stirring up trouble over the South China Sea issue, and cease undermining peace and stability in the South China Sea.
