Delighted to attend the closing ceremony of the 11th Mega Eye Surgical Camp under Operation Drishti in Srinagar today. I salute the extraordinary courage of Indian Army, doctors of Armed Forces Medical Services, who performed 364 vision-restoring surgeries across Srinagar and Tangdhar, in Kupwara. The 10th Mega Eye Surgical Camp was the historic first-ever border camp at Tangdhar conducted under Brig Sanjay Kumar Mishra's leadership amid challenging terrain.
Nationally, Operation Drishti has screened over 1.5 lakh people and performed more than 3,500 surgeries. I am extremely proud of the Indian Army’s commitment to restoring vision, dignity, and trust. Grateful to Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Hon'ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh Ji for this monumental initiative that will deeply impact lives across Jammu Kashmir.

Mission Ready. People Centric.

#GeneralDhirajSeth, #COAS, visited the 10th edition of ‘Operation Drishti’, an Indian Army surgical eye camp at #Tangdhar on 25 September and interacted with the medical team, beneficiaries and veterans.

In the remote valleys and high reaches of Jammu & Kashmir, where access to specialised healthcare remains a challenge, Operation Drishti is bringing more than medical care—it is restoring sight, dignity and hope.

Over 6,000 people have been screened, with more than 400 surgeries being undertaken for cataract, glaucoma and retinal ailments. The #COAS lauded the medical fraternity for this unprecedented initiative and its commitment to serving the people of the region.

The heartfelt gratitude of the people of Tangdhar and the surrounding areas is a reminder that the Army’s commitment extends beyond securing the borders. We stand with our people, especially those in India’s First Villages, in times of need.

True to the spirit of #JAIseVIJAY, the #IndianArmy remains Mission Ready, People Centric and steadfast in service to the Nation.
