“Stop the steal” in LA
A young black woman was surrounded when she was passing on her way home by a mob of 20 Trump Supporters
They circled her, harassed her, beat her, and maced her. It took two bystanders to pull her out.
NO ARRESTS WERE MADE!
WTF?! WHO ARE THEY?!
@0Silas2@CNN@cnnbrk@CNNPolitics As per Merriam-Webster:Definition of coup d'état
: a sudden decisive exercise of force in politics
especially : the violent overthrow or alteration of an existing government by a small group
@0Silas2@CNN@cnnbrk@CNNPolitics Failure to seize said power makes it a failed coup, but a coup none the less. It's no less a coup than the beer hall putsch or the March on Rome, both of which were conducted by paramilitary fascist militias. Like the 1923 Beerhall putsch, this coup failed.
@MigTigStik@Phil_Lewis_@Mike_Pence Don't read too much into it. The VP is the President of the Senate when he's presiding, it's normal procedure to refer to him as Mr. President.
@TomiLahren@realDonaldTrump No they aren't. It's the same idiots who stormed statehouses across the country, the same idiots who took over federal property in Oregon in an armed standoff. They're not "better" than this, nor were they "better than this" in Charlottesville when they ran that woman down.
@TimothyHarris2 @BorgerBitch @TomiLahren Which sort of falsely holds up the Nordic Model as Democratic Socialism when, as you noted, it's really not. The biggest key difference between Social Democracy and Democratic Socialism is the abolition of private ownership.
@TimothyHarris2 @BorgerBitch @TomiLahren Exactly. People are so dumb, but also part of the problem is American politicians erroneously calling themselves "Democratic Socialists" when what they're advocating for is "Social Democracy" and then going "I got it from the Nordic countries".
@TimothyHarris2 @BorgerBitch @TomiLahren And thus is my large rant about why thinking Denmark and Sweden are socialist is dumb and why people are freaking out about "socialism" for nothing, like always.
@TimothyHarris2 @BorgerBitch @TomiLahren But the Nordic Model also provides stability to the people by maintaining a strong welfare apparatus to support their populous through hardtimes. Likewise, countries like Japan and most of Western Europe can be considered Social Democracies due to their welfare apparatus.
