Chip Tangen will bring a third-party perspective as Minnesota's Secretary of State, restoring confidence in elections and getting more choices on the ballot.
Hardly surprising. The fact is, MN voters often “settle for the lesser of two evils” because MN’s ballot access laws make it too difficult for alternative candidates to get on the ballot. Let’s examine that, @KSTP.
Congratulations to @MNSteveSimon and @TadJude_MN03 on your party endorsements for MN Secretary of State. I look forward to our conversations on the campaign trail.

Yes, the process is “surprisingly simple” for major party candidates. A relatively small number of Independent and minor party candidates will take a “surprisingly difficult” path to give voters more choices. Please sign their petitions!
The comments to Sec. Simon’s post are scathing. Had a Republican bragged about this, the other side would hurl their barbs as well. To restore trust, we need to start electing chief elections officers who are not aligned with either major party.
My recent testimony encouraging an online system for candidate nominating petitions. It would be more secure and efficient, address ADA concerns, and protect everyone's privacy.
