I was laid off today. I spent the last 2 years as the only UI Engineer on Festival, implementing new features like Local Multi-player, Festival Menu, Calibration, and new game modes. I dove into focus and input issues, often helping other teams with their issues as well.

They forgot 2023 when they laid off over 800 employees inlcuding me. This was right when they made a deal with Disney by the way who now owns a small % in Epic. If the books dont look good, investors run!

I’m a part of the layoffs today at Epic, closing out four years working on Fortnite. It’s been the privilege of my early career being a part of this team. I’m proud of what we built, and grateful for every person I got to build it with. Fortnite will always be special to me.

If you enjoyed the maps in C7S2 or C6S3, The Simpsons mini-season map, or IP collabs like KPOP Demon Hunters, Superman, South Park, Doja Cat, and more, I was the Lead Environment Art and/or Environment Concept Producer for them.

so many weekends
so many live events, and competitive events, and new features, and new seasons

solid performance reviews every time
with multiple people mentioning how critical i am and what an impact i make across multiple teams

just to be thrown out
i don’t get it.

like, i spent the past week debugging the rivalry system while recovering from pneumonia

@superswagmillie Hi! So my original Backrooms map hasn't been updated in a very long time, and I'm sure it probably has some bugs. I originally planned to update it to have hints as Part 2 of the map does, but in the end I never got around to doing it. Thank you so much for playing my map tho!❤️
