A team of 5 looking after one of the hidden gems of Surrey, set in the Surrey Hills. We aim to promote the course, club and also the greenkeeping industry ⛳️
Round 2 of club championships set up complete. Good luck to all those playing, a warm day forecast which should speed things up a little after yesterdays rainfall. 🏆 🌱
I’m pleased to be turning the 3.30am alarm off for tomorrow! 😬 ⛳️
Round 1 of club championships set up done! Solid evening shift last night by the team followed by a early start this morning for a full course set up.
Good luck to everyone playing today and we hope you enjoy the course. 🤞⛳️
Busy week for the team, perfect weather for growing grass ☀️ 💦
The 25mm of rainfall certainly put some colour back!
The preparation for club championships continues ☑️
We have been working on the finer details the last 2 days.
Hand spiking worn areas and brushing in dwarf rye seeds to create a germination bed to help us speed up recovery for maximum turf coverage across all of the greens.
🌞 💦🤞
Great progress being made bringing the greens back to good health after our irrigation failure a few weeks ago. It’s amazing how resilient grass is and with the right care and attention it can bounce back. 👌🌱
All hands on hoses! 🌞🥵
Up and out early this morning hand watering hot spots and any dry areas.
Using wetting agent tablets to help break any tension within the soil allowing the surface to hold onto moisture for longer during drought and hot periods. ✅
After a very long and stressful few days of having little or no water getting out onto the course and with our regular irrigation technician on holiday. I’m pleased to confirm the irrigation system is back up and running😍
Now time to load some moisture back into the surface. 💦
@greenkeeperdave@LickeyHillsGolf I don’t some soil temps yesterday, 2 of our coldest greens are sitting 3 degrees lower than the rest. 8 degrees and lower in the shade 🥶
It was all about the bunkers today. Preparation for the captains drive in on Sunday is well underway.
The team pulling out all the stops!
Strim, blow, weed and rake ✅
😍👏
Maintenance Mondays 🌱
smooth operations this morning ✅
Micro core to a depth of 1.5 inches, helping remove thatch and relieve compaction with minimal disruption to the playing surface. Followed up by a top dress and roll 🌱⛳️
The team are smashing it 🤝
Lots of work being put in at the moment by the team. The course is really starting to define. The ground temperatures are still not up just yet, so the worn areas from winter will hopefully start to grow back in soon 🤞
All hands on strimmers and blowers ⛳️😬
4 day weeks followed by a bank holiday are always difficult for greenkeeping teams, especially when the grass is starting to grow. 🌱
Positive week with lots of mowing and detailing carried out, unfortunately still too wet for the rough mower just yet. ⛳️.
🤞for next week!
The first of the summer nutrient and wetting agent program on the fairways began this week.
Our first season adding wetters to our fairway program for regular applications 🤞
A warmer few days and finally some dry weather! A frosty start this morning held us back a little but finally the mowers are out and we are putting in some stripes and definition. 😍
