@musings100@Ashok_19@desi_diva1 Showing your naivity; ignorance or cognitive bias. Its a very old tactic. UK right wing Tory government low in the polls and have fucked the economy. Ofcourse they are gonna blame immigrants and make useless policy to pander to their xenophobic base
Classic distraction strategy
@harlo786@Arun_Chowdhury @JoeyMannarinoUS Furthermore, re Sex ed. Research shows that kids who have been given age appropriate sex ed are less likely to be victims of abuse; and are better equipped to report such abuse.
Conservatives arguing against sex ed are actually advocating for children to be more vulnerable!!
@harlo786@Arun_Chowdhury @JoeyMannarinoUS No need to get your knickers in a twist pal. Kids don't get 'taught in detail.' They are taught at age appropriate levels.
My 6 Yr old drew a picture saying "Be You." The lesson was about being proud of yourself. They also talked about different types of families that exist.
@Ashok_19@desi_diva1 Bollocks!! There aren't hordes pouring in to the UK 🤣. This is just the right-wing fear mongering that has been going on for decades. I remember hearing same BS 30+ years ago.
@SanksP @LastAM77 @KingsCollegeLon You are right that one can't make generalisations with little evidence.
This validates my statement that the tweet doesn't show bigotry or not.
There are clues in the post that suggest it is written to promote a persecution narrative.
ie hilighted bits and the final question
@LastAM77 @SanksP@Arun_Chowdhury@KingsCollegeLon This makes no sense.
How does that relate to anything I said, let alone the logic?
Seems like a sloppy attempt to inject some Islamophobic tropes/ talking points 🤔
This is not advocacy for Hindus abroad, nor Hindus in India.
@SanksP@Arun_Chowdhury @LastAM77 @KingsCollegeLon 😂😅 So is Modi and BJP the state?
You are right, they are persecuting the indigenous people in favour of Capitalist greed. As you know 250 million Indians came out to protest for their livelihoods. The state paints 1/5 of its population as terrorists and troublemakers.
@SanksP The table seems fair, though I don't know what criteria are used.
I don't understand your comment. I guess you don't agree that India is EA+?
Questions:
Who tells countries what to do? How do 'they' tell them? How do 'they' monitor compliance? What consequence is a low rating?
@SanksP @LastAM77 @KingsCollegeLon I am separating the Hindu voice from right wing and nationalist talking points.
A background of Islamaphobia does nothing to help Hindu/ Indian causes.
I'll not explain my CV to you, but rest assured that I have done my bit to propagate Hindu/ Indian culture, values & rights
@SanksP @LastAM77 @KingsCollegeLon Jumping to cry Hinduphobia does not serve the cause of Hindus; nor the broader issues of racism and White Supremacy.
We must be specific when making our voice heard. Look too at the broader picture of how race and White Supremacy affect the issues. And our own prejudices 🤔
@SanksP @LastAM77 @KingsCollegeLon Your take oversimplified the situation immensely.
The fact is that racism and institutionalised racism is alive and well in the UK. There are also people actively fighting this racism; and institutions trying to improve.
@SanksP@Arun_Chowdhury @LastAM77 @KingsCollegeLon Strange, given Modi has been PM for all these years, and BJP the ruling party 🤔
Sounds like Christians in USA and UK complaining that they are persecuted.
India and US are secular countries, but both have powerful Hindus and Christians, respectively, with legislative influence
