@sandipsabharwal Commentary on demand was quite weak. Start to festive season has been slow with decline YoY; 2H volumes likely to be lower than 1H on BS6 transition; demand recovery to take around 2-4 quarters; BS6 cost hike another headwind; competitive intensity has risen esp from Bajaj.

A large part of sales uptick with GST cut would be a pre-ponement of demand and thus vehicle demand/GST collections could fall again once rates are raised to earlier levels

A 10% cut for 6 months will cost the Govt around Rs 20000 Cr assuming no sales uptick
If sales go up by 15% it will more than compensate

It's only the small diesel engine i.e. 1300cc sourced from FIAT would be discontinued as it would become unviable in small cars. The in-house developed 1500cc engine recently introduced in Ciaz would continue
