Kalita caste did not exist before 1650 AD. Some Kshatriya Baro Bhuyan male married Sudra peasant women and got outcasted from Kshatriya Kayastha Baro-Bhuyan clan. Now their offsprings are called Kulo lupto i.e. Kalita.
