I think that young people still appreciate live performances as it is a more authentic experience. But, I also believe that they like prerecorded music as well because you can have more variety of music, and having a cover band perform a song doesn't do the song justice#S22POPMUS
@colepatey03 I agree that you can separate the art from the artists as long as you recognize that the music was stolen and credit is being given to the actual inspiration of the music
#S22POPMUS I think that people considered "Shlock Rock" and Teen Idol music bad because it was bad. As it was said in the unit content, some of these people were picked to record cause they were young and had "The look" but were not actually good singers.
@jubejube100 I personally think the opposite. If i had to buy every song individually(CDs, record's) I'd spend hundreds of dollars on music a month. Now, for the price of 2 coffees I have unlimited access to music, which makes it even more accessible.
@MeganChippett04 Yes, I totally agree. I especially notice this on apple music, cause you cause not only browse different genres but also certain social topics like the ones you mentioned.
#S22POPMUS I think that the artists or genre of music you listen to definitely helps to form your personal identity, as some people realize they can relate to certain songs or artists. Also streaming services(Apple music) have greatly increased my consumption of music.
#S22POPMUS I agree that music today has created several "false needs". One of them is the illusion that you need to look a certain way to be pretty or popular. Another "false need" in popular music is needing to have a lot of money to be considered successful or happy.
