We need a polite, gender neutral term for addressing strangers for whom we do not know pronouns. Akin to “sir” or “ma’am.”
I just saw someone drop something and my instincts tried to convince me to call them “your honor.”
Things my day included:
An 8am class
A 6 hour shift working at the chapel.
12 Boston Police officers playing bagpipes.
A giant American flag on a fire engine.
4 train rides.
Today was a strange one.
We need to have a conversation about Boston’s hundreds of “luxury” apartments. Who lives in these? Who can afford to spend $4000/month on a 1 bedroom apartment?
Semester 5 of grad school is finally finished. In the past 10 days I have written and submitted 42 pages of academic writing. I am emotionally, physically, and intellectually exhausted.
I was just sitting outside of a building on campus eating a snack. I was surrounded by other benches and a picnic table, all of which were empty. And a guy came up and laid his stuff on my bench and lit a cigarette and proceeded to smoke like 5 feet from me. WHY.
Charlie got me up at 5:30am to go outside and to check the loud thunder that woke him up. We got outside, he barked at the sky, got frustrated because it was raining and then wanted to go in. Dogs, amiright?
Just watched a guy wake up on the train and absolutely panic. He asked if we had passed Kenmore square yet… yeah dude. Like 20 minutes ago. #MBTANaps#accidentalnapping
I’m ready for Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and sweater season. Being sweaty is a nightmare. I wish we could have 4 months of Fall instead of 4-5 months of sunburns and sweat stains.
