Today, it’s all about senior Neida Prada. She’s an alto in Chamber Singers as well as a member of Band Council, Winterguard, and NHS. Neida plans to study psychology at UNT. Her favorite choir memory is winning sweepstakes in 2019.

Her parting advice is “Just put in the effort. It really pays off when you go to UIL or anything like that and hear yourself and your group performing their hearts out. Choir turns out to be like a family.”

Today, we have Caden Aaron! She is an Alto in Chamber Singers. She plans to attend Texas Wesleyan for music. Her favorite choir memory was 2019 UIL.

We resume our Senior Spotlights with Johnathan Castellon. He is a tenor in Tenor/Bass Choir and a wrestler. He plans to go to college after graduating and become a musician. His favorite choir memories are the concerts. And finally, his parting advice is “Dont stress yourself.”

Finally, Leslie’s parting advice is “Dont listen to others who bother you. Stand up for yourself.”

Today, we are recognizing Leslie Salgado! She sings soprano in Varsity Treble Choir. Her favorite choir memories include UIL and playing Super Smash Bros. in the choir room. She plans to attend TCC after graduating.

Finally, Lezly’s advice for underclassmen is “Dont stress about things you can’t change and don’t let fear stop you from stepping outside your comfort zone.”

Today’s senior spotlight is for Lezly Gomez, aka “Lil G”! She is an alto in Chamber Singers. When she isn’t singing, Lezly is also involved in Senior Board, UV4C, and Student Council. After graduating, she plans to attend Texas Woman’s University for nursing.

Her favorite choir memories are goofing around before concerts and winning sweepstakes at UIL. She wants her friends to know she truly misses them and hopes they’re doing well.

Ally’s underclassmen advice is “Make choir a priority. Even though some may see it just as an extracurricular or a fine arts credit, choir is truly a place where you create another family.”

Today, we have Ally Wise! She is a soprano in Chamber Singers. Ally is also a member of NHS. After graduating, she plans to major in English at Texas Wesleyan. Her favorite choir memories are the bus rides too and from UIL. She really enjoyed the energy and anticipation.

Finally, Ronnie’s parting advice to the underclassmen is “Just hang in there.”

Kicking off another week of senior spotlights is Ronnie Hall. He sings tenor in Chamber Singers. Ronnie is also a member of the WHHS E-Sports Team. After graduating, he plans to enroll at TCC for nursing. His favorite choir memory is meeting Mr. Chandler freshman year.

Today, we have Selene Yasmin Hernandez! When she isn’t singing soprano in Chamber Singers, she keeps busy as an athletic trainer, a soccer player, a member of Link Crew, UV4C, and Academy 4. Selene will be going to UT-Arlington for Mechanical Engineering.

Her advice to the underclassmen is “Although it might seem like it’s getting old and repetitive, it’s all worth it in the end. Music is the one thing that won’t leave you and all the preparation may seem hectic but trust me, you’ll miss it when it’s gone.”

Today’s #CougarChoir senior is Debra Williams. She sings soprano in Chamber Singers while also playing softball and participating in National Honor Society. She will be going to Texas Woman’s University in the fall to major in psychology and minor in music.

Today’s Senior Is Anaid Del Rio! She sings Alto in Chamber Singers. Her favorite choir memory is meeting her boyfriend in choir. Her advice to the underclassmen is “Do what you enjoy. Don’t slack off and do your best to make some good memories with your friends.”

Meet Casandra Navarro! She’s in Varsity Treble Choir. Cassandra plays soccer at WHHS. She is will attend TCC and UT-Arlington. Her favorite memories are winning sweepstakes and fall retreat. Her advice is “Have fun but work hard. Be patient, make new friends, and don’t give up.”
