I'm Kshama Sawant and I'm running for Congress as an independent antiwar socialist. I'm fighting to end all military aid to Israel, for a permanent arms embargo on Israel, to win free healthcare for all funded by taxing the rich, and to win national rent control and a national $25.hour minimum wage. I was an independent socialist on the Seattle City Council for a decade, and I used my office to win the nation's highest minimum wage, the Amazon Tax, and unprecedented renters' rights.

My main opponent is 29-year incumbent Adam Smith, a general among the warmongers. Adam Smith is the Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee and has joined the Republicans in cosponsoring nearly two trillion dollars in war funding just since December. Smith has voted to create and repeatedly fund ICE. He is bankrolled by AIPAC and the billionaire class.

My campaign is the strongest-ever challenge, by far, to Adam Smith and we have a real shot at defeating him. But we are facing a huge media blackout, including from many independent left-wing shows. I call on all left-wing podcasters and independent media outlets to have me on their shows and feature our campaign. Instead of continuing to ignore this chance to throw out a genocidal warmonger from Congress, let’s unite on the basis of our anti-imperialist principles and bring this campaign past the primary on August 4th. I also call on the audience of these outlets to urge the hosts to bring us on. We have less than three weeks before the August 4th primary election and we need to get out every vote that we can.

Having an independent revolutionary socialist in Congress would be a game changer for the working class. My track record proves my commitment to fighting uncompromisingly for working people, and to build mass movements capable of threatening the political establishment and accomplishing real victories. We have a real opportunity to challenge both parties of the billionaire class, but in order to achieve that, we will need the support of people with big platforms that are capable of countering our invisibilization from mainstream media.

⚡️Melat Kiros says House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries should not become speaker if Democrats retake the House, arguing the party must “root out the corruption and get money out of our politics” by voting out incumbents “taking that kind of corporate PAC money.”

New: An elderly Palestinian man was found near Gaza’s so called “Yellow Line” after being released by Israeli forces, unable to remember even his own name. Hospital staff at Nasser Medical Complex say his body bears clear signs of torture. He arrived with his hands and feet reportedly still restrained, and doctors are now trying to identify him and locate his family.

An eight-year-old boy, Jad Suleiman, was killed by shrapnel from an Israeli airstrike Monday while walking home from school in the Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza.

Drop Site reported from Shifa hospital where his father clutched his son’s bloodied backpack and asked, “What was his crime?” As global attention shifts to the wars on Iran and Lebanon, and Gaza’s so-called ceasefire enters its ninth month, the genocide there continues to intensify. May was the deadliest month of 2026 for Palestinians in Gaza, with at least 119 killed including 19 children according to the Health Ministry in Gaza, and at least 46 more have been killed in the first nine days of June alone. Israel has also restricted the entry of life essentials into Gaza, allowing only 36% of agreed-upon aid and 15% of required fuel—leaving 77% of Gaza’s population facing acute food insecurity, according to the World Food Program.

💢 Six-year-old girl and a woman killed in Israeli attack on tent in Khan Younis

The United States continues to facilitate Israel’s daily killing of Palestinian civilians, through full military and political support as Israel ignores the Trump-brokered ceasefire.

Minattallah Nabil Abu Libdah, 6, was killed Monday in an Israeli attack on a tent in Khan Younis in southern Gaza. She had reportedly been recovering from a broken arm at the time of her death. Footage shows her father crying uncontrollably at the hospital next to her lifeless body.

A second person, 31-year-old woman Hanan Mahmoud, was also killed in the Israeli attack, according to reporting by Mosab Abu Toha.

Spanish journalist Marta Maroto shares an update from As-Saksakiyah, in Lebanon’s Sidon district in the south, where an Israeli strike killed 9 members of the same family yesterday. Four different generations of family members erased.

Intense attacks continued across southern Lebanon over the weekend. 51 people were killed on Saturday, the Health Ministry said, and Israel “directly targeted two points of the Health Authority in Qalawiya and Tibnin, Bint Jbeil district, in two raids,” killing two paramedics on Sunday.

PM Nawaf Salam said Bint Jbeil, the town in southern Lebanon which Israeli forces have laid siege to, “has become a version of Gaza,” according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).
