@PeterDClack Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is highly transparent to visible light but acts as a strong absorber of infrared (IR) radiation. Its absorption spectrum is dominated by specific vibrational and rotational modes, with the most climatically significant peak centered at 15 μm (micrometers)…
@PeterDClack CO2 molecule is Tri atomic as opposed to nitrogen gas or oxygen gas being di atomic that makes a big difference. But what would you know? You haven’t studied chemistry like me.
@TheCharlesDowns Since the United States is the largest emitter of fossil fuel, greenhouse gases, (fossil carbon dioxide) then aren’t you guys responsible for accelerating climate extremes.
You fossil fuel burning pricks.
@MarkJCarney Exporting fossil fuel to other countries does not help the situation. Where is the solar battery wind future we were promised. I don’t wanna see hot house earth kill everything off.
@chrispydog@macastel3 Burning diesel is completely unsustainable. It’s 80% waste heat.
It takes 65 million years for it to reform . That’s why they call it non-renewable energy.
Buddy
@chrispydog@macastel3 I have a masters degree in physics. Silicon is the second most abundant material on the planet. Lithium batteries should be called nickel graphite batteries because they are more abundant in material content.
Sodium ion will dominate stationary batteries
Think seawater
Buddy.
@chrispydog@macastel3 Volvo makes battery electric mining trucks and in Europe there’s lithium mine and they use a giant solar array and wind turbines to recharge the electric mining trucks. Their autonomous meaning no one is driving them but a computer.
The world is changing buddy
@chrispydog@macastel3 In 20 years from now, you will not say that because the world will have already transitioned away from liquid fuels. For the last 26 years, I’ve lived in a off grid solar powered house and 13 years ago. I bought an electric car that has never screwed up once.
What do you think?
@Ann92806986Ann@JamesMelville When a solar panel works and actually reduces the temperature as opposed to if it wasn’t working. Like if the solar panels were shut off, they would be hotter. I bet you didn’t know that.
