Sickness is contagious, fear is contagious, and panic is contagious. But so are things like kindness, compassion, joy, and hope. As we face the unknown, lets remember to choose hope over fear and to rally together rather than allow panic to divide us. See you on April 6 Panthers!
Today, in consultation with local public health, San Diego Unified School District ordered all schools to close in order to curb the potential transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Because of this, City Heights Prep will be closed March 16th-April 6th.
Tomorrow is City Height Prep’s very first CAREER DAY! We look forward to welcoming our guest speakers to campus from 8:45am-12pm, hearing the wonderful career presentations that await, and seeing our students engage in their mock interviews!
In our World History and ELA classes, our students are engaging in the mock trial of Former President Harry S. Truman. On Friday, judges, witnesses, defense attorneys, and prosecutors filled the classroom as the trial began. It will end tomorrow once the judges deliberate!
We know that rigorous academics can only go so far if they aren’t accompanied by the right study skills and life skills. Thankfully, AVID offers all of this, allowing our curriculum to fully propel our students towards the opportunities that await them: in college, and beyond!
Panthers, clubs are here! You can choose from ASB and Volleyball on Mondays, Fitness, Yearbook, and Garden Club on Tuesdays, Fitness on Wednesdays, and Soccer, Girls Club, Girls Basketball, Dance, or the Art Honors Society on Thursday. Get your sign up slips in soon!
Panthers, stay tuned for club sign ups NEXT WEEK to see what opportunities this semester holds for learning new skills, investing in personal passions, and giving back to our community and world!
Our learning spaces are further enhanced by the decor and design that intertwines concepts of hope, positivity, creativity, diversity, growth mindset, and more. When our students step through these doors, our hope is that not only are their minds stretched, but their hearts too.
Upon walking into our school office, you’ll likely notice the contagious smiles of our wonderful office staff. City Heights Prep isn’t just a place students receive an education; it’s a place they receive a school staff who wholeheartedly encourage and champion them.
Something that has always set City Heights Prep apart is its focus on the 4 Cs: collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. This focus has only been enhanced by our new location!
New year, new school! After months of preparation, what a treat it has been to see our new campus full of students, their eyes wide with curiosity, and their smiles full. We can’t wait to turn this new location into our home, and to build incredible memories together!
Rainy days can’t dampen our spirits this Spirit Week! Rather, laughter echoed throughout campus today as students splashed in puddles, compared their “Wacky Wednesday” costumes, and participated in engaging classroom activities. Don’t forget about Panther Thursday tomorrow!
Congratulations to our Students of the Month: Karen, Jocelyn, Younes, Eh Soe, Kaitlyn, and Michkenda, as well as to all of our Raffle Winners! We are so proud of you, and of your growth mentality and eagerness to learn, to discover, and to create.

During today’s “Wellness Wednesday” activity, our AP Psychology students made a playlist of calming/uplifting music. Why? The right music can help our nervous systems relax, letting us self-regulate. Stress happens, but knowing how to regulate in spite of it equips us to succeed!
Congratulations to our Students of the Month: Jose S., Omar, Paola, Jose L., Adanayah, and Kenny! Your work ethic, academic discipline, and desire to learn and grow is remarkable, and we’re so proud of each of you!
