@mike_petriello This feels a bit crazy imo. Understand this is to show how good the top NL SPs have been, but to me Sanchez is very far clear of the rest.
IP reigns king for cy young imo , and not only does he have the most, he has it by 15 and 25 over his main competition respectively
@smatregranoWPRI@JeffPassan I mean id get this argument if Sanchez was giving up a ton of hard contact and just getting lucky, but he gave up 21 singles and 4 doubles for his 25 hits. A pitchers job is to prevent runs, obviously 1 run isnt a lot but when the race is close then thats what you have to go off
@smatregranoWPRI@JeffPassan not indicative of him being a worse pitcher, and it shows in the fact that he consistently has a low 3 or low 2 ERA. Not to mention that the most important pitcher stat is innings pitched, and Sanchez has more (albeit a small margin)
@smatregranoWPRI@JeffPassan not like Sanchez is some one off lucky pitcher whos having good luck with his defense. Pitchers can control the type of contact they give up, and Sanchez combines having an elite groundball rate with a high K% and an extremely low BB%. Him giving up more hits is purely stylistic
@Jram2TBJ What is it about Burrow discourse that makes people lose their minds
Nobody ever talks abt how good he is, its always some weird thing about the games he's won or what skillsets matter and having to have a take on him being in specific tiers
@PaulTweetsRIP They still likely have the worst starting linebackers in the league, so thats definitely an issue, but the rest of the defense looks very good. I dont expect them to be a top 10 unit but they should be very solid
@PaulTweetsRIP And added an elite defensive tackle when the biggest problem on the defense for years has been their lack of an interior pass rush.
All that on top of the fact that Trey Hendrickson barely played last year, so him to Dex is an even bigger leap
@Pengu Did something change or do people not know how to play Maverick anymore? Feel like wall denial bans is such a waste with how many powerful operators there are on defense
@RedbirdRiot Someone whos gonna put up a 95 OPS+ with 20+ homeruns and great defense is not a bad thing to have towards the bottom half of your lineup. You dont have to think he's a future star to say he has value to the roster currently
@bengals_sans People talking about "you gave up too much" when we finally made a move to maximize our chances of winning a superbowl in the Joe Burrow era π
I couldnt care less about the pick. This is the team, they've never been this complete (dont check LB) this team is way better than 2021
The 10th pick is definitely a lot, but this is now the best team in the Joe Burrow era. 100% worth it, love to see them maximize their superbowl window for once
#Giants star Dexter Lawrence is being traded to the #Bengals in a pre-Draft blockbuster that includes the No. 10 pick heading to the Giants, per me and @MikeGarafolo.
NYG gets premium draft compensation, Cincy gets a lynchpin, while Sexy Dexy gets a new, big-money extension.
@BengalYouTube@j_love2823 With a pitch that far outside, you have to let it get deep to drive it with as much power as possible. It barely went foul, it easily couldve been fair aswell but I dont think its unrealistic for it to go foul. Much easier to get that point across when youre not namecalling lol
@BengalYouTube@j_love2823 Tbf its not necessarily wrong but idk why the guy is being such a dick about it. Its just a misunderstanding of the term "perfect"
Perfect doesnt mean the perfect time to maximize your chances of getting a hit. It means you maximized how hard you hit the ball based on timing
@Okachukwudi That 2022 team was probably the 2nd best team in franchise history and none of those guys aside from maybe Jaren are gonna want to be known as primarily Grizzlies when looking back at their careers. And thats just so disappointing to me.
@Okachukwudi Kleiman is incredible as a gm but I do think its really sad how multiple players who should be franchise icons are having such lackluster/negative exits from the team
