The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has arrested 46-year-old coconut trader Emmanuel Awotwi for allegedly converting a designated pedestrian walkway into an unauthorised storage and trading space, in breach of the Assembly’s Control of Hawkers By-law, 2017, Sub-section (d).
The suspect was arrested after an AMA task force found him occupying a substantial portion of a bus stop along Professor John Evans Atta Mills High Street, near the Arts Centre, with more than 500 coconuts stored for sale.

The most deprived and underdeveloped parts of Ghana are largely NDC strongholds. Yet they continue to vote for leaders who, in my view, have failed to represent their interests.
