Hello! I'm Chris O'Reilly, an elementary education and early childhood student at Rider University. I am going to become a future kindergarten teacher.
Showing videos is informative for the classroom especially if there's a discussion form or an ed puzzle to show that your students are following along. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A16: I can help students always make sure to fact-check everything they post so they are spreading misinformation and that everything they post never really goes away. Always be cautious of what you post online and think about it. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A15: It is possible to do deeper research after seeing something on social media. Whenever I see something crazy out there I always make sure to fact-check it. You never know if what you see on social media is real so looking into other resources is ideal. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A14: Students need to learn social media literacy skills because when using resources you want to make sure they are true and knowledgeable. By working on your social media literacy skills you can do deeper research on what to post and become more informed. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A13: It's hard not to dwell on a negative social media post but, by choosing not to respond you win. You can block this person and report their account. The person that is posting all this negativity wants a reaction so if you don't give them one and move on, you win. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A12: It's better to have in-person communication when responding to a negative comment or issue because many things can be miscommunicated through social media or text. Having that in-person communication you can see tone, body cues, and facial expressions. #TEC207
@larascarril @ScottRRocco Hi Lara! I love this strategy because it's so easy to respond to negativity with emotion. By allowing yourself to not respond you are being the bigger person. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A11 P2: I would use this strategy by ignoring this person and blocking them. If that doesn't work I would prefer to have an in-person talk and discuss what's the problem. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A11: It's so important to think before you respond in regards to negative social media posts. Over social media, so many things can be miscommunicated, and having the ability to sleep before you respond to a comment or not respond at all is very powerful. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A10: When using educational technology and transferring that to outside the classroom I will make sure each assignment has a due date and if there is a problem with someone's schedule outside the classroom to have the flexibility to allow students to do the assignment. #TEC207
@mlle_singh@ScottRRocco Hi Stef! I agree with you. Collaboration and working together can enhance educational technology and help students learn better. It makes students more connected and shows that we are all in this together. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A9: This question is important because it highlights that group work is very important. After all, sometimes students can help other students learn the material better. If students can work together towards a common goal it keeps everyone on track. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A8 P2: It's important for me as a future educator to know this because I don't want students to fall behind in learning. I want to keep everyone on track and make sure I'm there to help. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A8: It's very important to see if students are learning. That's why I believe websites like Edpuzzles are so important because there are questions to see if you understand the material and if you get something wrong you can write a comment and ask why. #TEC207
@SiobhanWes5@ScottRRocco Hi Siobhan! I agree with you. The more teachers use resources and make them a routine and familiar the more it will stick. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A7: The author suggests this by making sure that teachers use the websites that are best for them and their students. By choosing the right tools you will engage the students more. As a teacher, you have so many options and have to limit yourself to what is best. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A6: The author is saying cauliflower is used in many different ways and is a versatile food. Educational technology is very versatile because there are so many options out there. This will impact my classroom by making sure I choose what is best for my students. #TEC207
@CrystalMDeLeon@ScottRRocco Hi Crystal! I love the way you way to implement students choosing how they want to learn. Giving students options to choose what way they learn is so beneficial. Ed puzzles, google drawings, or discussion forms are great choices. #TEC207
@ScottRRocco A5: I believe student choice is the most important aspect when it comes to educational technology because ultimately students will speak up. Educational technology needs to be accessible, easy to use, and fun. I will ask my students if they like the resources I'm giving. #TEC207
