A look at the OLDEST known surviving copy of Homer's Odyssey in book form 🤯

It's 1,700 years old and was copied in Egypt in the 3rd or 4th century CE, when readers were beginning to abandon scrolls for bound pages. It's printed on sheep skin.

An ancient papyrus just crashed a Hollywood press junket.

At the New York junket for Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," the real headline wasn't the A-list cast. It was a fragile book, quietly on loan from the John Rylands Library at the University of Manchester.

- The manuscript dates to roughly 200-400 CE
- It is the oldest known surviving book copy of Homer's epic
- Odysseus took 10 years to get home. This text has survived over 1,700

Some stories never stop being cast.
