@NadiaWhittomeMP I've spent my life not complying with regressive female stereotypes. I thought we'd worked out that femaleness isn't dependent on the masquerade of feminity. 'Gender identity' is based on those rigid stereotypes, having it replace 'sex' for all purposes is offensive to many women
@NadiaWhittomeMP The safety, privacy & dignity of both women & trans women in toilets & changing rooms could be ensured if properly designed & funded facilities were available. Religious women, dads with daughters, the disabled, carers, non-binary people etc need consideration too. Work on that.
@ClennellMick@AWPRCO@TessaOutlook Plovers and oyster catchers lay their eggs directly in gravel, sand or shingle. Not in bushes. Their eggs are well camouflaged and hidden from aerial predators, the parents close to feeding grounds. Perfectly adapted to their environment, before the arrival of humans & their dogs
@ClennellMick@AWPRCO@TessaOutlook Ground nesting birds evolved over millions of years to occupy that ecological niche. Dogs have been intensively selectively bred over just a few hundred for highly specific purposes (eg killing vermin) and are a recent threat. The birds can't adapt to lax dog owners that quickly!
@JackMcL14211778@MhairiHunter Is that gender neutral, shove everybody in together type toilets (with or without urinals?) and shared washbasins? Or the self-contained option. It makes a difference and each has pros and cons. Privacy vs increased waiting times for example. Changing rooms are another matter....
@LGBTQPrideUK The Court concluded that this interpretation would render the protected characteristic of sexual orientation conceptually meaningless. Therefore sex is biological because, they noted, lesbians are females attracted to other females.
'Lesbian' has a specific definition related to 'biological sex' in the ruling. That, rightfully, doesn't prevent inclusive (same-gender attracted) associations. It does, however, allow same-sex attracted females to associate freely and lawfully, without objection or harassment.
@berylperrol@PapyrusofThebes@DailyMail Nothing would surprise me. There are so many gender symbols, this was the first Google Lens found to match the one for sex on the above graphic...which also appears in the Equality documentation for some Primary schools and other institutions. Rather worryingly.
@CeliaRichards0n The NT does a lot to encourage children's imaginations and help them learn about, and make sense of, the past. Perhaps aid it with VR and AR, for education and fun. Harry could be one of the characters getting on the wrong end of a jousting lance and landing on his backside
The FIA is saddened to learn of the passing of Alex Zanardi, the former Formula 1 driver, two-time CART champion whose journey from life-changing accident to Paralympics gold medallist made him one of sport’s most admired competitors and an enduring symbol of courage and determination.

Prunella Scales’ son Samuel West fights back tears discussing her death.
The 59-year-old actor opened up emotionally in a new Channel 5 birdwatching interview, recalling his last proper conversation with his mother two years ago.
Prunella, 93, died in October 2025 after a long battle with vascular dementia. Her husband Timothy West passed away at 90 in November 2024.
Samuel said she asked “How old am I?” and reacted with “91? F**k” beautifully timed and enunciated.
He added she remained remarkably content and without anger or anxiety despite the disease, and that he got his love of the outdoors from her.
Poignant and moving.
