@ldl716 He doesn't have a contract. He was an RFA and could have easily signed a contract with another team for below 1.575 and then you either have to sign a player you don't want, or lose him for nothing. He got a 4th for Robertson's rights, he payed a 5th for raddysh's. That's not bad

He's their #1 defenseman on the powerplay, and playing on their top line, and they only used 8% of their cap this year. That's a fair amount for the guy who's probably going to have to most TOI for the team next season.

@simonpoisvert @DwayneNHL @_JordanDecker % wise Raddysh was cheaper than Rielly when he signed, by next season his cap hit% is going to be the same as a player who made 6m this past season. You're looking at it as though it's a flat cap, look at the %, this isn't an overpay

@GearshiftMike I don't understand everyone wanting Bob and scratching hidelby. He was a top 5 goalie in S% last year, on a bottom 5 team in the league, making under 1m. And he consistently has played 40ish games every year combining both leagues. Bob is 38, coming off a brutal season

@ProducerDrew_ As of now, fighting for a wildcard. I think you can confidently put Boston and Detroit behind them. But the Atlantic is the best division in the league, I don't think there's much argument, and I could easily see them taking both wildcard spots next year.

@LeafSingh No one, but he is a phenomenal player on a crazy good contract, and he's about to get pushed off the top line in the next couple years by McKenna. Sell while his value is at its peak and get a haul back to have a more well rounded team.

@tavkniesnythews @PapiLeafs34 The leafs only have 1 right shot player in their ENTIRE forward lineup rn. And they are drafting a potential franchise LW at 1st overall. It's a downgrade this year, but he was going to be pushed down the lineup and lose value over time. Trade him now to balance out the roster.

He's signed for 4 years at 3.75, can't stay healthy and came off his worst regular season in his career. His value is at an all time low rn.

@ReeseTheBeagle @LeafsfanEst1991 That was literally 5th in S% in the entire league last year, on a bottom 5 team playing 1/4 of the games this season, as a rookie. And he's posted similar numbers in the AHL the past 2 seasons. Been a .900+ in at least 1 league every year since 2019-20.

@Banx_Leaf Stolarz did his job and bridged the gap for when Will and Hildeby were ready to take over as the leafs tandem. Last year they showed us they are, will played 39 games, hildeby played 43 across both leagues, this is the new tandem.

@Banx_Leaf Except this time you have a younger, cheaper goalie who HEAVILY outperformed him last year, and again, you want to put him in the press box half the season!! Hildeby was 5th in the LEAGUE in S% on a bottom 5 team, playing 20 games as a rookie. He's played 40+ games in 2/3 seasons

@Banx_Leaf The guy was bottom half of the league last year in both GAA and S%, if you call that a strength then you're looking at him with rose tinted glasses my friend. He's injury prone, was our worst goalie last year, and the most expensive one on the roster.
