Large, draughty, high-ceilinged cathedrals are an ideal design for vaccination centres in a pandemic. But so are many temples, mosques and synagogues. Trust, confidence, accessibility and acceptability of the jab can be built by working with diverse communities. We must act now!
There are no words to describe how utterly appalling this is. What the hell kind of country are we living in when human beings think this is acceptable
I was recently asked to make a video diary of working inside ICU.
It might not get used but I wanted to show this video for all ICU & hospital colleagues around the UK.
Please stay at home.

From today, those experiencing domestic abuse will be able to go into a Boots or indie chemist & seek help. If they say the codeword ‘ANI’ they’ll be taken to a private room & asked if they want to call 999 or domestic abuse helpline. ANI stands for Action Needed Immediately
The number of patients on mechanical ventilation in the UK reached 3496 yesterday, the peak in the first wave was 3301 patients on 12/4/20. These are the sickest patients in ICU, each patient needs one nurse 24h per day, 7 days per week. @ICS_updates members are there for you.
When it was crap in the Spring, I told you. When we were quiet through the summer and autumn and I was worried people with other conditions were scared of coming to hospital, I told you (and got in trouble). It’s now crap again. I’m not going to lie.
@fascinatorfun That would be great. Making it an offence for the store to serve anti-maskers is popular among staff. They already have to check for age when selling alcohol etc. And because it's backed in law, there is no debate about it.
I’m covering ICU on Christmas Day. Every year during the festive period we see a lot of people following deliberate and non-deliberate self harm, and a lot of suicide attempts. I can’t help thinking this year is going to be very much worse than ever.
#NHS STAFF ON THE FRONTLINE NEED TO BE VACCINATED ASAP
Those of us who are seeing sick and undifferentiated patients in A&E and on the wards need to be vaccinated as a priority.
