To celebrate the New Year, we lift our champagne glasses in honor of the oldest fossil Apatemyidae from Spain, a species that was once regarded as pertaining to the primatomorphan Arcius. https://t.co/QkD9T6btyQ
We are pleased to announce the discovery of the first stem anthropoid primate from southwestern Asia. Sungulusimias unayae is an eosimiid from near the Eocene-Oligocene boundary. Available now (gold open access) https://t.co/j9kSTRUTwW
The Natural History Museum at the University of Colorado is searching for a new director. This is a wonderful institution conveniently located along the Front Range of the Rockies. https://t.co/32vNIu7vOJ
Congratulations to @therealmfj, recently minted KU PhD and expert on all things chiropteran! Next stop on Matt's career path is Arizona State! This is a big loss for the Jayhawks, but a serious win for the Sun Devils! Good luck Matt!
@KUHoops@youngoch Cleveland got a real steal with this draft pick. And I say that as a former Pittsburgher. Tough to see Och and CB on opposing teams though!
@VTechmeetsPaleo@CarnegieMNH I fondly recall working with Drs. Luo & Lamanna on that project. Happy to hear that VT VPs and friends enjoyed the galleries. The T. rex display @CarnegieMNH is still in a class by itself.
I am saddened to learn of the passing of Yves Coppens. He was a brilliant paleoanthropologist and a kind and generous colleague. I was fortunate to participate in his symposium on "Origines de la Bipedie chez les Hominides" in Paris in 1990. He is missed.
"je suis convaincu, convaincu que l’imagination dans la science est extrêmement importante et qu’il faut absolument continuer imaginer pour faire des hypothèses"
J'ai eu la chance de le rencontrer et de l'interviewer.
C'est un grand nom de notre science qui nous a quitté.
That's what I'm talking about! 22-23 Jayhawks will have a strong core with you back in Lawrence, Jalen. BTB national championships and you become a lottery pick next year. Everyone wins! #RCJH
I'm so sad to learn that Richard Stucky has passed. When I was in grad school, Richard and Barb frequently hosted me on trips to visit the Carnegie Museum. When he left for his dream job in Denver, I replaced him at Carnegie. Richard was a great friend, humanist and scientist.
Richard Stucky’s the indirect reason I got into paleo via his support of Tom Bown and Kim Nichols’ @CSUAnthGR paleo field school, facilitating links w/ @DinosaurJoe@DenverMuseumNS . A great supporter of science, education, and outreach. A loss for the field.
As a paleontologist, I can say with all honesty that this was a long time coming. @KUHoops was robbed in 2020 because of the pandemic, but this team brought it all home! #rcjh
KU BB is #1 nationally; KU Paleontology is #3 according to US News & World Report. Maybe @CoachBillSelf can help us with our recruiting? #RCJH@KUNHM
@ChesterLabCUNY And following in the noble tradition of using alliteration in taxonomy, we named that tiny beast Tinimomys tribos, which lived alongside Dryomomys dulcifer!
