With the queens death, I can’t help but think about my grandma. She was a British immigrant to the US in the 50s and adored the queen all her life. From her example, I think my grandma got her sense of style, her quiet calm, her dignity, and her kindness to others.

It’s crazy how Democrats spent all of 2020 saying we needed to vote for them to save democracy, and since they’ve been in power democratic institutions have been falling left and right. From voting rights, to reproductive rights, and LGBT rights.

one very gaslight-y thing about working in the US is that a mass shooting happens and you are expected to sort of just go on with your workday. in other places there'd be a national crisis with a period of mourning. not here. get to work.

Crisis on Infinite Earths was one of the first comics I read and it changed my life. He was a true visionary. And by all accounts he was a kind and good man too. RIP
