First of all, the right thing to do is demanding that Russia end its invasion, rather than asking Ukraine to stop defending itself.

​Second, Russian diesel has been under sanctions for almost five years and is not sold in the U.S. The recent price spike is driven by the war in Iran.

​Finally, Zelenskyy never agreed to stop strikes, nor can such an agreement happen without symmetrical de-escalation from Russia, whether through an energy ceasefire or a complete end to long-range strikes.
