DITV COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF
92 DAYS UNTIL UTRGV FOOTBALL.
So today we’re talking about the man wearing No. 92.

Plano Senior High School @PlanoFootball → UTRGV @UTRGVFootball
This one got all-gas, edge-rusher energy.
No shortcuts. No overnight hype.
Just production.
David Nwabuoku comes out of Plano, Texas, one of the biggest football hotbeds in the state. A city that’s produced NFL talent, powerhouse programs, and generations of Texas high school football players. When football is part of the culture, earning your name means showing up every Friday night and making plays.
At Plano Senior High School, Nwabuoku did exactly that.
Playing for head coach Cody White, he put together a dominant senior season:
▪️ 103 tackles
▪️ 57 solo tackles
▪️ 20 tackles for loss
▪️ 32 quarterback pressures
▪️ 6 sacks
▪️ 2 pass breakups
Those numbers earned him First Team All-District honors and established him as one of the top defensive playmakers on the Wildcats’ defense.
The thing that jumps out isn’t just the sacks.
It’s the 103 tackles from a defensive end.
That tells you he wasn’t just getting after quarterbacks. He was making plays all over the field, chasing down ball carriers, setting the edge, and creating problems every snap.
After arriving in Edinburg, Nwabuoku spent time developing his game and learning the college level.
During the Spring 2025 semester, he earned UTRGV AD Honor Roll recognition, showing the same discipline in the classroom that helped him on the field.
In 2025, he appeared in two games and recorded his first collegiate tackle against Langston.
Now heading into the next chapter of his career, the goal is simple: keep developing, keep adding reps, and keep pushing for a bigger role in the Vaqueros defensive front.
Off the field, Nwabuoku is majoring in business and enjoys golfing, bowling, fishing, and swimming.
But once the helmet goes on, it’s all football.
And if his high school production is any indication, No. 92 has the kind of motor that defensive coaches love to build around.
92 days until kickoff.
