That’s the thing. I learned my lesson from TTT2 to T7. All I did was constantly complain and whine about how much they were changing. And it ruins everyone’s hype and experience. For T8 I felt that it wasn’t for me, but I haven’t publicly complained about it, I just left.
So funny all the hate Tekken 8 gets with the response of "im gonna play Tekken 7" as a "gotcha" to tekken 8. Just for them to boot up tekken 8 a week later 😭. I was there for the tag 2 AND t7 hate discourse. Tryna rewrite history like t7 wasn't hated, too, is nasty work.
I understand that everyone is upset at Tekken 8 Season 2. But I am truly having such a great experience with it. Let's stop so much negativity. I was getting a little bored with S1, but S2 could be peak Tekken.
Thankful for TEKKEN!
Found an old pic of me watching a TEKKEN 4 match vid in ‘02 😅. Time flies! Used to take 30 minutes to download/watch ONE game on dial-up internet. I probably watched this same match like 20 times while downloading another.
@CDDTReborn Not at all. Because at a whim, dev can make sword repel bullets. Or bullets are actually now fluffy pillows. Now swords win 70% of the time. The point is that without every character design being identical, there will always be some imbalance. The scale can never be 50/50
I am starting to suspect that people don’t understand variables in a controlled environment. If 2 ppl started out in an arena with a sword and gun next to each person, and results show the gun users win 70%, is that unfair for the sword users? FGC hurt itself in confusion🕵🏻♂️
Everyone has access to the same options at character select.
People cultivate skills that pertain to their chosen character.
Consequently, the term “carried” is nonsensical, and its use is directly correlated with scrub mentality.
Discuss.
@Mocha__Unicorn Exactly. You can’t have all things equal and not be boring. Variables cause balance change. Point being, it would only be unfair if everyone didn’t have all the same options. I like the different designs. I acknowledge that this necessary brings some characters to be stronger
I could write a whole essay on why tier list are generally harmful, inaccurate, and compromised at the start by the player. A few: wrong calculation of data type considered, to narrow of scope, bias, utilization of characters not measured, input and misuse of char by player
Thinking in terms of tiers all the time can be so damn harmful.
Somewhere along the line people stopped thinking about “does this character serve MY playstyle? Does this character have tools that I PERSONALLY value?”
So many are constantly trying to put the characters on some objective ladder of strength that DOES NOT EXIST.
All that exists are characters that work for you and characters that don’t work for you. So figure that out and cultivate your strongest SELF.
Good luck, soldier 🫡
