The County Competitiveness Index (CCI) 2024, which we launched today, provides valuable insights into the economic strengths and challenges of Kenya’s 47 counties, highlighting opportunities for targeted investment and development.
The report offers the much-needed data that will help investors make informed decisions on where to put their money. What may appear as a missing item in a county is, in fact, an opportunity for investors. It contains valuable information that both the private sector and government can use to enhance the competitiveness of individual counties.
I intend to visit counties armed with this information and, through MITI, work with them to address the gaps identified and take advantage of the opportunities highlighted.
I am optimistic that the insights from the report will guide the government in making informed affirmative actions when allocating development funds, ensuring that no county is left behind in the journey toward inclusive economic growth.
Present were Investment PS Abubakar Hassan, TMA Country Director Lillian Mwai-Ndegwa, and EU Delegation Representative Rodrigo Romoro.
