A big problem some people overlook in disciplinary issues in schools is that faculty are too sensitive when dealing with normal teenaged behavior. Their mindset is to punish young girls, not help them. Punish, not help - that's school-to-prison in a nutshell. #HipHopEdSHU
Hip-Hop needs more empowerment. People wait like vultures for women artists to slip up just so they can put them down - no winning for them #HipHopEdSHU
I think it's hard to say that Hip-Hop "hates women" because all popular culture already does. I feel like this is a way to single Hip-Hop out and blame it for the existing misogyny in American/global culture #HipHopEdSHU
Great job on the video @timah_tou
What you said about learning real black history in schools is something everyone needs to hear. And what you said: they didn't *want* you to learn it, is most important
#HipHopEdSHU
Nice job on the music background @JakeFord_5
The clips you used in the background were flawless too
And I appreciate how you related American experiences to a global outlook
Great outro too

Question about giving voice to the marginalized made me think to something I asked my brother weeks ago: when people think about Wu-Tang now, how many remember C.R.E.A.M by Method Man's chorus and not the realities of Deck's verse? Seems to get watered down with time #HipHopEdSHU
DJing at its core might be the most creative thing I've ever seen but it makes me sad to think people have reduced it to using some computers #HipHopEdSHU
It always gets me messed up seeing people like Kool Herc and Coke La Rock knowing they didn't get to reap much of the rewards of what they created #HipHopEdSHU
I see cogens as being better used as a preventative planning method rather than for correcting mistakes. Better to do most of the year right than look back halfway at a load of building issues. #EDST3510
