@DPhilosophyGuy Also… Freedom isn’t anachronistic at all. Freedom isn’t bound by dispensations, eras, ages, geography, or cultures. Granted, American “freedom” isn’t the same as freedom in Christ, but you’re insinuating it is. You don’t have to agree, but don’t imply I’m not following Christ.

@DPhilosophyGuy I wasn’t advocating individual rights from a spiritual perspective. We give up our “rights” when we surrender to Christ. BUT we don’t surrender His wisdom. If I have rights under worldly law that protect my ability to preach and worship freely, then I will leverage those rights.

@DPhilosophyGuy I’m familiar with the scriptures. Just b/c Jesus said we would be blessed when people persecute us doesn’t mean we go looking for persecution or find ways to make it easy. Jesus Himself knew to stay out of Jerusalem until His “time.” You’re just looking with a narrow perspective.

@BrianZahnd Not entirely true. A TRUE follower of Christ knows they have everything they need in Him. However, most American Christians prefer to partake the Eucharist without fear of persecution. If we give up our 2nd amendment, we may be partaking Eucharist in the secrecy of the basement.
