This attack revealed everything wrong with Manchester United's movement.
Matheus Cunha stayed strong under pressure, protected possession and kept the move alive. Bruno Fernandes recognised the opportunity immediately. He changed his position repeatedly until a passing lane appeared, received the ball and struck the post.
Marcus Rashford was close enough to influence the attack, but never became part of it.
He did not accelerate into the space, stretch the defence or make himself available for the next pass. He simply moved through the moment without affecting it.
That is the concern. A Manchester United winger cannot wait for the game to arrive at his feet. He must anticipate danger, attack openings and give defenders another problem to solve.
Cunha supplied the fight. Bruno supplied the intelligence.
Rashford supplied neither movement nor urgency.
The talent may still be there, but the attacking instinct looks worryingly absent.
